In the opening episode of season 7 of Weeds, Nancy Botwin exclaims to the parole board that she is inmate #81426-370. For some reason that number stuck in my mind, so I went snooping around the internet for clues this afternoon.
81426 is the zip code for Ophir, Colorado, a small town of about 300 people just south of Telluride. The above picture is of a property for sale in this small town, with absolutely breathtaking views of the Rockies. I don’t know if I would get much work done up there, but it would sure be nice to live remotely for a bit.
Does 81426-370 mean anything? Only Jenji Kohan would know the answer, but it was sure fun to speculate. As season 7 unfolds, maybe something will turn up, more clues to solve this mystery, of why Nancy got this particular inmate number.
Sad Sack was sittin’ on a block of stone
Way over in the corner weepin’ all alone
The warden said, “Hey, buddy, don’t you be no square
If you can’t find a partner use a wooden chair”
