How true those words ring out.
Valentine’s Day is bittersweet in our household, it marks the anniversary of my father-in-law’s funeral. Gilberto suffered a massive stroke in 1980, which left him with global paralysis. His heart gave out on him in 1989, rest in peace.
Gilberto was a happy-go-lucky fellow, his goal was to retire, buy a motor home and travel the United States. Before he passed on, I rented a Winnebago and drove him around Florida. Though he was in bad shape, I could see in his face that he truly enjoyed the adventure.
Since 1980, I’ve lived my life for today. In 1989, I retired from the Rat Race, ‘cause life is short.
