When the pine needles are laid, you’re done.
Pine needles were placed under trees and brush, no more dirt showing anywhere. We tried mulch last year but it was a waste of time and money, it either washed away in heavy rains or blew away come Fall leaves cleanup. Pine needles look good when first laid down, especially if you get a batch that has that reddish tint to them.
We also reseeded the whole lawn and spread out wheat straw where needed on bare spots. None too soon mind you, cause it’s been raining since the weekend, a slow and steady drizzle. We’re very glad to see moisture coming down, cause water restrictions are still in effect.
