Woke up to 3 inches of snow on the ground inauguration morning, fitting for our day of renewal. Fired up the fireplace, put a pot of coffee on and flipped on the TV to C-SPAN to witness history.

Not since I was a kid and felt the electricity in the air from a John F. Kennedy administration, had I been this interested in politics. From the looks of the crowds that gathered in the nation’s capitol, I was not alone.

When Beyonce sang At Last for Obama and Michelle’s first dance of the evening, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. At last, we were free, free to show emotion, free to be proud again.
