Last night I tuned in to see the Super-G race. Even though I already knew the outcome, I wanted to see the spectacle – you know, the sport. Yet all I saw were two runs, then endless commercials, then 2 runs, and more commercials. At the end of the race, it was surreal, here was Christin Cooper, a former Olympian, inciting tears from Bronze medalist Bode Miller. Forget about interviewing the Gold and Silver winners, NBC just wanted tearjerker TV.
At the start of the 2014 Winter Olympics, I should have opted for a VPN, that way I could have watched the Canadian streaming coverage. Half way through, I’ve given up, I’ll not watch anymore, it’s just too painful. Bode was not the only one shedding tears last night.
My mouth fell open
Hoping that the truth
Would not be true
