When I got bit by the cycling bug, it was Miguel Indurain pounding the pedals in yellow. By the time Lance Armstrong was winning tours, I was old hat on the bike, having logged quite a bit of miles. Every year, the tour has inspired me to get on my bike and pedal. Every year, I’m reminded that I’m a mere mortal. One day, I hope to travel to France and be on some mountaintop, urging the riders on as I sip on a glass of wine.
