Please excuse the offensive language but I found the title to this article in one of my Google Ads.
On hcgtv, I got into the habit of using the front page for a song lyric. The song usually has some relation to current events or it could be the way I felt that day. Google Ads are sensitive to the content of your page, so most of the ads targeted to the front page posts are about music.
Today I put up a new song, You’re So Vain by Carly Simon. As I always do with new posts, I click on them to see the targeted ads and was met with this new kind of in your face advertising. It’s effective, my eyes went straight to the bottom of the ad and my first reaction was WTF let’s click.
Since I can’t click my own ads, I just saw what the url of the ad was and went to the site. Now I know why the title to the ad was such, because only an asshole would pay for some service that they can get for free.
