Christmas snow in Charlotte

Christmas Snow 2010

Christmas snow in Charlotte is very rare, an inch or more of snow on Christmas has happened only twice, with 5.8 inches falling in 1947 and 4 inches in 1880.

The snow began falling last night and we awoke to a winter wonderland this morning. There’s about 3 to 4 inches on the ground now, very nice powder, perfect for a snowball fight. The snow is still falling, so we may be able to get some sledding in this afternoon.

It doesn’t show signs of stopping
And I’ve bought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let It Snow!
Let It Snow!
Let It Snow!
