I Melt With You

Feature film shot with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II.

I Melt With You

I Melt With You, starring some big name actors, was shot with a digital SLR, that anyone of us can own. To me that’s just amazing, as I read how cameraman Eric Schmidt went about it.

Mind you, they did spend more money that I would care to spend on lenses and fancy rigs, but the camera body still just costs $2,500. So for not a very high price, I can shoot a movie like the pros, that has to be scary for the MPAA.

Anyone can make a film, and make it look good. This I believe is what all these attacks on piracy is all about, control of the distribution channel.

As the current generation is raised on torrenting, and digital equipment comes down in price, where does that leave the high priced studios in 10 years time? Out of the loop I would imagine. Thus the fight to stop torrents, not because it hurts their current bottom line, because it endangers their importance in an open and heavily connected future.

Dream of better lives the kind which never hates
Trapped in a state of imaginary grace
I made a pilgrimage to save this human’s race
Never comprehending the race had long gone bye
