Finally finished ripping all my Rock CD’s.
Over the last couple of weeks, it’s been rip and tag time. With Giga running Lenny, it was time to get all the music into the home server. KAudioCreator proved it’s worth for ripping and it handed off to LAME for encoding to MP3. A typical music CD took about 10 minutes to process, a minute for KDE to recognize the inserted CD, 6 to 8 minutes to rip and encode, then another minute to wind down.
There’s still some Country, Latin and Rap left to rip, but I’m taking it easy now, just sitting back and enjoying it all.
