Spent the last week playing with my new toy.
After months of researching digital television, I bought a Samsung LN-S4041D. This 40 inch LCD blows my mind every time I watch a movie, a broadcast program or a sporting event on high definition.
I’m not much of a TV viewer but this set keeps you glued to the screen. Last night, we could see the sweat on David Letterman’s upper lip, the skyline of Miami on CSI gave me acrophobia and the football game on ESPN made me feel like I was standing on the sidelines.
This was by far the hardest buying decision I’ve ever had to make, there are so many options, so much to digest and it’s changing on a daily basis. Reminds me of the early days of the personal computer, I feel for the consumer who doesn’t have a clue about technology.
It’s taken me a week to fine tune the TV, the digital cable box, the DVD player and my home stereo. HDMI cables make it a breeze to hook up the equipment to the TV, monster cables to the stereo for surround sound and I don’t ever have to visit a theater again.
