I swear, I saw more commercials on Saturday Night Live than skits.
In 1975, when Saturday Night Live was launched, we couldn’t get out of our chairs when a commercial came on. We didn’t know if there was a parody afoot or if it was a legit commercial. Back then, bathroom breaks were rare and VCRs hummed in the night in case we missed something.
Last night, I spent more time in the kitchen grabbing a snack to stay awake than watching SNL. I rarely watch SNL these days, but I decided to give it a look, for old times sake. But the amount of commercials, legitimate ones, just bummed me out.
