The cable modem went silent this week.
It’s been a tough week for broadband, 3 outages lasting 24 hours each time. When the outages hit, my world went silent, it felt very eerie to be completely out of touch.
My Internet connection is my link to the outside, with email, instant messaging and of course the browser for news and entertainment. No, I’m not an addict, no more than those people wearing cellphones as earrings.
With DVD’s and whatever was on the Tivo, I was able to at least relax at night. The TV is not something I use much of, except to watch a movie and an occasional car race.
I’ve flown across the galaxies
And been to Berkeley Square
I’ve passed the time with Sophocles
But never left my chair
